I was going through some of my boxes looking for my Saturday Silver Spotlight coin and ran across this stuff. All of this has been picked up at garage sales or thrift stores. The large silver butter serving tray I paid $2 at a garage sale. It's .950 silver and I have to get it on a scale but I'd say close to 5oz (See Update Below). Also have rings, bracelets and even a pocket watch case. Silver is all around us if you just start looking in unusual places. Ever little bit helps add to the stack. Where have you found silver where you didn't expect it?
Edit: Found my scales. 5oz......not even close. Closer to 9.5oz. The base was 4.89oz and the top was 4.46oz making a grand total of 9.35oz of .950 silver for $2. Market value of it for scrap is $134.62. Coiapps was used for price calculation. http://coinapps.com/silver/gram/calculator/ Not bad.
