Look what was waiting for me as I walked in through the door today. I had ordered it late Friday night after having a productive chat with my new friend .
Now working for the NHS means that payday comes on the 21st of every month, but since that was a Sunday, payday came early and my pathetic pay went straight in to my account on Friday!
So what's a stacker to do with a fresh pay-check and no social life?? Off to my usual routine of searching far and wide through ebay for some random late night bargains. Nothing catches my eye, so I resign my self to some soft-core silver porn on my Instagram account. When posts start flooding my feed, is this a sign or is it fate....?
Being the tight bastard that I am I direct message him and with out even introducing my self just come out with "what's your best price on 2oz of any hand-poured stuff you have"? Not very subtle but I find being direct has worked for me in the past, no messing them about, get a price, shake a hand, job done. The conversation lasts about 1minute before I bring up the possibility of paying with cryptocurrency.
Unfortunately at the time he did not accept or even want to entertain the idea of getting paid in cryptos. Well I don't know if its my "Welsh charm" or the fact that he thought he would miss out on an extra income steem but to his credit he said let's give it a go.
Im no expert, but through more luck than skill I managed to talk him through the process of opening up an account with a well known exchange and explained the benefits of the blockchain technology. I went off and made a cup of coffee and by the time I got back he had messaged me to say his account was active.
Fantastic I said, now do you take litecoin??
Ummm, which one is that???
We all know the beginners exchange that only has the 3 major cryptocurrency on it... You with me? So I explained that in order to accept a specific crypto, you needed that specific wallet.
We agreed a price, and I explained that I would need to send just that little bit more to cover the mining fees, to add the transaction to the blockchain, and he seemed very impressed by its speed and efficiency.
So basically now accepts cryptos as payment for his amazing poured silver. Unlike most pourers, he's gone that extra bit further and all his pieces are hallmarked by the Edinburgh asset office as marked with his unique "BYB" makers mark and stamped by the office. So not only do these have silver value they can also be considered as collector pieces.
So although not my fist hand-poured purchase with cryptos, they did arrive first and so have popped my cherry!! I've already apologised to (love you).
If there are any UK buyers looking to spend cryptos on silver is definitely worth a look. Tell him I sent you and he will look after you.
