TY1 - VG Buffalo Nickel
Picking up this sweet coin at my LCS was a great find, according to my guy this was the first year of circulation, and as you can see it was on sale. Even got an Indian discount to boot.
The graph below gives us the value of this coin:
| 1913 Nickel Value | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Condition of Coin | ||||
| Date | Good | Fine | Extremely Fine | Uncirculated |
| Type I: Raised Ground | ||||
| 1913 | $9.10 | $12 | $16 | $28 |
| 1913 D | $11 | $16 | $26 | $47 |
| 1913 S | $31 | $38 | $54 | $79 |
| Type II: Five Cents Recessed | ||||
| 1913 | $9.32 | $11 | $15 | $32 |
| 1913 D | $39 | $51 | $99 | $156 |
| 1913 S | $143 | $158 | $237 | $516 |
The coin I purchased was grades as Very Good the design boldness allows the deeper details to remain. Despite a lack of finer details, a complete outline of the Indian and Buffalo are visible. Lettering on both the front and reverse is readable.
Look how cute that buffalo is, you can see every small detail. This particular coin is popular in year since it was the first edition.
That's all I have for you today, since I'm only doing one coin at a time and not stacks. Happy Friday!
