It was an incredible night in Philadelphia as the Eagles earned their spot in the 2018 NFL Super Bowl! They will face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Sunday, February 4th in the final game of the NFL season. The Eagles are sure to be heavy underdogs but that can’t be happier to be in that role.
The NFC Championship today wasn’t even close. Nick Foles and the Eagles offense absolutely destroyed the Vikings defense and embarrassed them from the start. The Eagles built a 24-7 lead in the first half and the Vikings could never recover.
Nick Foles would complete 26-33 passes on the day for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns. He would not throw and interception and had a QBR of 141.4. Foles started the season as the backup quarterback but Carson Wentz was lost for the season near the end of the year and Foles was handed the keys to the car. There was plenty of concern in the media if Foles would be able to produce at a high level but he has put those fears to rest.
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback, Case Keenum, was one of the major reasons that the Vikings were in the position to have a shot at the Super Bowl. But Keenum had a tough day today. He completed 28-two 48 passes for 271 yards and had one touchdown but two costly interceptions. Keenum should keep his head held high though as he had a dynamite year and will reap the rewards in the free agency market.
The Eagles can celebrate tonight but they will need to start game planning for the New England Patriot ASAP. The Super Bowl match up will be a classic David vs Goliath scenario as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick try to cement their place in history. But Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles will have plenty to say about that.
Who are you rooting for in the 2018 Super Bowl? Do the Eagles have a legit shot at pulling off the upset or are the Patriots destined to add yet another trophy?
