The Gorilla takes on the Wonderboy in this Liverpool main event. This is a fight both Till and the fans begged for, and Saturday is a night we finally see if Darren is ready for a top pound for pound fight. Thompson vs. Till is an absolute striker's delight to say the least...
...and it is one of the few battles we can look forward to two men who want to keep it standing. Muay Thai meets Karate in a fight that makes mixed martial arts what it is. The clash of striking styles these men possess will keep the fans entertained, and appease the masses.
The Liverpool fans of course want their man Till to win, but in the end, Stephen Thompson is one of the more appreciated figures in the UFC, and his demeanor and skill level are known globally. If Darren Till can dispatch the Wonderboy, he will have a one way ticket to a championship fight.
Till would cause a lot of problems stylistically for the current champion in Tyron Woodley, but there are so many unknowns with Till including a lack of experience that can't be ignored. We are dealing with two phenoms of striking here, but only one has championship experience.
This is a 5 round main event, and for a man like Darren TIll who believes in his hands and ability to put any welterweight down with a few good shots, it could become dangerous if Wonderboy doesn't go out in the first. If Thompson is still kicking 4 rounds in, Till may have to watch himself getting finished.
It is not a game when two men of this caliber throw down, one of these men will leave the cage different from the way they entered, and experience with respect are only a couple of things to be earned. This will be an amazing one in the UK this Sunday, do not miss it!
