The Golden State Warriors traveled to Chicago to put their thirteen-game road win streak on the line against the Bulls at the United Center on Wednesday night.
The Warriors jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first eight minutes of the game, when the Bulls roared back with a 20-4 run to end the quarter to pull ahead by four. Chicago continued to build their lead to ten points with four minutes to go in the second quarter.
Down three coming out of the locker room, the Warriors came out smoking with a 27-6 run, building their lead to nineteen behind a matching nineteen combined points in the quarter by the “Splash Brothers” Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Losing 95-78 to start the fourth quarter and the game seemingly out of reach, sharpshooting Nicola Mirotic scored a quick eight points in the first two minutes, attempting to spark his team. Still down nine points, the Bulls were able to pull within five before Golden State sealed the victory, pulling away in the final minutes to win 119-112.
Klay Thompson led all scorers with 38 points, including seven threes. Former MVP Steph Curry converted on six three-pointers leading to his 30 points, while Kevin Durant added 19 points. Nicola Miritic led the Bulls with 24 points, converting nine of ten shots in the loss.
