Hi guys! happy to come your way again, in my scientific post of today, I will be enlightening you guys on the basic things that evolves and revolves around the concept of Bacteria & Virus. I made this post concise and comprehensive for the better understanding of the readers.
Outline for today's discuss
- Brief introduction
- Bacteria explained
- Virus explained
- The major Differences between a Virus & a Bacteria
Brief Introduction
All of you must have heard about something called Bacteria and the other, Virus.
Obviously, I am talking about disease causing virus and not the computer virus,, lol.
Let us see what exactly these things, bacteria & virus, are:
living or dead,
animals or
insects!
Bacteria
Bacteria are microscopic single-cell organisms. They can be up to a few millimeters long at times. Their shape can be circular or rods, etc. These are non-centric, unicellular simple organisms. Bateria are found everywhere- in soils, in hot water bodies, in nuclear substances, in water and also within the body of plants and animals.
Bacteria are studied under bacteriology, which is a branch of micro-biology.
Bacteria can be both beneficial and harmful to humans .. Sometimes, these bacteria lend a helping hand, by curdling milk into yogurt, or helps us with our digestion. They play a very important role in the physical cycle of many elements, such as in the stabilization of atmospheric nitrogen in fertile lands.
At other times they are destructive, causing diseases like pneumonia, cholera, mild fever, tuberculosis, plague etc.
Virus
A virus is a small thing that has the ability to replicate itself under favorable conditions such as inside human body or living bodies. A virus is so small that it’s not even a single cell. It actually is a RNA, (Ribonucleic acid) which has a protective layer.
Viruses, as harmful as it is, can infect all kinds of life forms, ranging from animals and plants to micro-organisms.
The virus is a living thing or not a living thing! scientists do not have a clear cut answer for this.
Like Bacteria, Viruses are both beneficial and harmful to man.
Some viruses produce diseases in plants or animals and are also harmless. HIV, influenza & polio are major diseases caused by Virus.
The major Differences between a Virus & a Bacteria are:
The bacteria are a cellular organisms, whereas the virus is non-cellular.
The bacteria are alive, whereas the virus is alive or inanimate, scientists have no clear answer to the latter.
So guys, I know this writeup is not as voluminous as my previous posts, but i made it so due to the discovery that most human get discouraged to read a post when it is so voluminous thereby making the post not serving its educative purpose. So i decided to devise a new method that will make my blog reach out to many steemians out there.
Have a nice day guys!
Thanks for your audience!
