Hey guys! So I'm writing this on 11th of jan at 8:23 pm from India. Today is my birthday (only a few hours left) and I would like to share how I celebrated my birthday. The day when I left teenage behind and embraced the thorny lashes of adulthood with the perks of having all the legal allowances by the government! Just with the exception of getting married. I have to wait another year for that. Well I can do that. Of course.
Everyone celebrates their birthday in different ways. With family. With friends. With colleagues. By going to an orphanage, etc. Everyone has their own ways.
Here in India, at first we prefer to go to any nearly temple to offer our homage to the Gods. Various offerings are made. Then with a 'tilak' on our forehead and a 'pushpanjali (flower)' on our ears. For most of us, the day starts in this manner.
This is basically done by the Hindus.
The other religions have their own way of praying on their birthdays.
But the common thing is, everyone pays their respect to the gods.
For me too the day started out in the same manner. Only with the exception of having a puja in my home itself.
I had a VISHNU PUJA at my home. This is the puja where offers are made to the greatest considered God of the Hindus. Here 108 Tulsi leaves are offered with no consideration by applying Chandan on it.
Various regions of the country has a bit variation in their way of doing the puja. But the only common thing is that we have to wear dhoti while doing the puja. And yeah! I did wear too. Proudly. Thank you for today...
Wearing dhoti in Kshatriya style.
