Hi Steemians,
We all heard of the most common types of pollution. We have air, land and water pollution. Indeed, these types of pollution is harmful both to men and the environment. You might even visibly notice it in your surroundings and I know it is not a good sight.
Pollution affects our daily lives in many ways. It does not just affect the health of our environment but to us, human beings, as well. It is not just physiological(bodily) health that I'm referring to but emotional and psychological also. Furthermore, it provides a negative impression when a certain place is "polluted" as a place not habitable to live in.

CONCEPT-WISE
Pollution is the introduction of different types of substances that causes harm and change into the environment. Sometimes the terms are interchanged between pollutants and contaminants when pollution is defined as the incorporation of contaminants as well. Contaminants are man-made or man-induced while pollutants may be produced by man but more likely already present in the natural environment.
Contaminants are the trashes people throw. They are the smoke coming from the factories we built. Contaminants are the chemicals we dispose in the sewage that eventually leads to the seas and oceans. Pollutants can be the byproduct of a volcanic explosion. During that natural phenomenon, release of solid particles in the air along with sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and many more compounds are released into the air.
THE UNCOMMON TYPES
Indoor Pollution
You read it correct, we are experiencing indoor pollution. You might not notice it but it can have adverse effects in our health. Much of indoor pollution is caused by inefficient and improper cooking and heating practices. Of course, it is not but limited to that reason. This includes the carbon monoxide(smoke) emitted by kerosene, natural gas, wood and propane. Carbon monoxide, being odorless and colorless is harmful in excess levels. This is amplified when houses have no proper ventilation so ensure that your place has an effective entrance and exit of wind. Another source of indoor pollution also include the contaminant from a person in a household cigarette smoking. One other example of an indoor pollutant is dust. We are under the process of desertification which I will discuss in the next article. You would notice that there are areas in your house that have plenty of dust.
Noise Pollution
This is not your friend shouting at you or your mother scolding you. Noise pollution is the propagation and progress of noise which is harmful also to the environment or human beings. Yes, this is a threat and is damaging. Environmental noise(other term for noise pollution) is mainly attributed to the elevated levels of sound caused by transport, transport systems and machines. One would also experience noise pollution within the household. This includes the appliances like washing machine, dryer, cooler, air conditioner, vacuum cleaner, food mixer, grinder, blender, television, loud speakers and many more.
People suffer much of this stressful effects in urban areas than in rural areas. It can cause high stress levels, hypertension, sleep disturbances and many more.
You see the types of pollution I discussed can be experienced immediately in a household. Both indoor and noise pollution are dangerous at increasing levels. We must take precautionary measures to both lessen the causes or minimize the effects.
