Timber as one of the engineering materials is used for construction work and its uses are so numerous on site. After felling a tree, its branches are cut and its stem is roughly converted into pieces of suitable length so that it can be transported to timber yard and this is refers to as ROUGH TIMBER.
Meanwhile, its uses can be traced to construction of many ancient temples, palaces and bridges and such timber construction can be seen till today
