Have you ever been a victim of violence?
I know I have. And I know many of my friends who have been as well. Maybe after the #MeToo movement we realized the extension of the problem.
I am not going to get into statistics. They are sad anyway even to look at. I am just going to suggest some solutions.
Speak up
Don't shut up when someone hits you. Tell people. It's not shameful to ask for help.
Don't believe his lies
'I didn't mean it' - 'I won't do it again, I promise' - 'I love you'
Those are all LIES! The moment you realize he's never gonna change is the moment you will decide to...... -->
...Leave
Some women say they can't. Because financial reasons, or because they have kids they can't leave behind. With the right support you can do everything. Let the power get to you and then find the courage to leave.
...or, Hit back
Yeah. I know how it sounds. But NO. are not promoting violence. I know though situations that the only way out was to learn how to hit back. Don't stand still. ACT.
