Here is my dilemma: good mathematical content can be found across many, many tags within Steemit but when those articles appear on chainBB they are placed within a sub-forum defined by the first tag used by the author.
This means that some very good content will never appear within the Mathematics sub-forum. Yes, I can resteem such posts but that only distributes them to my followers; it is a one-time promotion and it cannot change the tags. Every other form of promotion suffers from the same long term problem: that an article will eventually fade away outside of its appropriate community.
However, if an article could be placed within its appropriate sub-forum it has a chance of being picked up later and restarting the conversation. Now we seem to have the technology to do this in such a way as to benefit both the community and the original author.
What I propose is to create a new post that links to the original and includes tags so that it is within the required chainBB sub-forum. This will not be a re-post but will have the same title, the author and a link to the original. Using the new Reward Distribution app found in chainBB, the original author can be awarded, say, 80% of the net earnings, the rest going towards curation.
Essentially, this creates something like an index card which sits in the appropriate sub-forum. I am trying to think of a good name for this... something like index, pointer or reference, so that the article will appear as, "The Mathematics of Blockchains [ref]."
I don't see any down-sides to this; indeed, the original author will gain extra revenue. This is also a way to reward older articles where the original author does not wish to repost them as that would require a bit of editing. The author will obviously be asked for their permission first.
What does everyone think?
Please consider resteeming so as to expand discussion.
