I punched the screen for the fifth time. Why did my OS have to update every time I need to do something important?!? This update better finish before the customs officer found out I had arrived on Spewm.
Five hours later
Finally! I opened up the devirtualizer and started loading everything in the queue. I threw a teddy bear to the side (must have been sent to the wrong address), put a doughnut in my mouth, and grabbed the container of milk. I opened the cockpit and jumped out onto a piece of gum. This was not starting well...
I wove between buildings looking nervously over my shoulder. The Imperials had a small garrison on Spewm and I really hoped I wouldn't run into any stormtroopers. I downloaded a GPS app for Spewm and typed in the Doctor's address. A quick 10 minutes walk away. No problem.
I was halfway there when I felt a breeze. breeze = cold = temperature = warmth = milk = very bad things. Had I seriously forgotten to bring something to keep the milk warm? I glanced down at the temperature on the side of the container and flinched.
93.8f
I quickened my pace.
...
I ran the last block to the Doctor's house and rang the doorbell. Nothing. I hammered on the door but nobody came. (with such a nice house why doesn't he have servants?)
I sighed and pulled out my phone to take a selfie with the milk to show the Doctor I had delivered it. I set it down on the doorstep after I saved the picture and turned to leave. Then someone arrived. A stormtrooper...
I pulled my blaster pistol and shot a hole through the lock before body slamming the door. I fired a few laser bolts over my shoulder to occupy the trooper as I ran down the hallway. The glowing LEDs that outlined 93.8 blinked to 93.7 as I turned the corner.
I was halfway back to my starship when the explosion went off. I sighed. It looked like the Doctor had some more time traveling work to do now. Hopefully he'd be at his home to pick it up next time.
I sent him the selfie after I took off from Spewm. I decided to skip a photo of his mansion the aftermath.
