My name is José Cubillán. I am from Venezuela.

I am a biologist and I have a master's degree in Immunology. My passion in life is scientific research focused on the host-pathogen interaction (mainly parasites and viruses). During my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I worked with the biology of the parasite that causes malaria, the world's most important parasitic infectious disease. Currently, I am also working with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the causative agent of AIDS.

On the other hand, I am a cooking lover and I like to cook typical foods from my city, Maracaibo. When I am in the kitchen, I take on the challenge as if I were doing an experimental assay :) As my wife is ecologist Hive account@orianar, I have also acquired some knowledge about the area of ecology, with an emphasis on biological diversity and biogeography.

Mi nombre es José Cubillán, y soy de Venezuela.

Yo soy biólogo y tengo una maestría en Inmunología. Mi pasión es la investigación científica centrada en la interacción hospedero-patógeno (principalmente parásitos y virus). Durante mis estudios de pregrado y postgrado, yo trabajé con la biología del parásito que causa la malaria, una de las enfermedades más importante de los países del trópico y sub-trópico. Actualmente, también estoy trabajando con el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), agente causal del SIDA. Por otro lado, soy un amante de la cocina, y me gusta cocinar platos típicos de mi tierra del sol amada, Maracaibo. Cuando estoy en la cocina, asumo el reto como si estuviese realizando un ensayo experimental :) Dado que mi esposa es ecóloga Hive account@orianar, también he adquirido cierto conocimiento sobre el área de la ecología, con énfasis en la diversidad biológica y biogeografía.

El propósito de esta publicación es presentarme ante esta gran comunidad de Steemit y manifestarles mi interés en publicar y compartir artículos relacionados con mi área de conocimiento, como bien ser recíproco contigo.
