There is a clamor from some of the people to legalize marijuana within their respective countries and in fact some countries already legalized the use of it for medical and recreational purposes. But the aim for legalizing it really is to help people who are suffering from certain medical conditions like pain and appetite-loss.

I Have Pain And Appetite-loss Issues That Marijuana Can Help Me With
Scientific Evidence
Stories of cannabis’s abilities to alleviate seizures have been around for about 150 years but interest in medical marijuana has increased sharply in the last decade with the help of legalization campaigns. In particular, both patients and scientists have started to focus on the potential benefits of CBD, one of the main compounds in cannabis. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is responsible for its euphoric effects, CBD does not cause a “high” or pose the same type of risks that researchers have identified for THC, such as addiction and cognitive impairment. Rather, studies have shown that it can act as an anticonvulsant and may even have antipsychotic effects.

My View
I myself wants it to get legalized in my country because of the pain caused by my hyperparathyroidism which is caused by being a dialysis patient for 17 years now and it is hard to live with weak joints as the pain is unbearable and I have to use pain reliever more often now just for me to feel better.
I also have some appetite issues that I have to contend with and I know that maybe marijuana could potentially help me with that regards. So I am conforming with the push to legalize marijuana in my country just to help patients like me that is suffering from major illnesses that sometimes modern drugs could not help anymore.
The Risks
Of course the potential misuse and abuse could happen and it is a great ppossibility that other people who are not sick will be able to acquire such prescription to allow themselves use the marijuan without any reason other than to enjoy its psychoactive effects if not make a business out of it and could affect society especially the young people who are at risk of buying it from a dealer.
Also it may get to be a "gateway drug" which means that people who will abuse it will also turn to use other stronger and more dangerous illegal substances and as a result they could get victimized by their own actions in abusing marijuana in the first place.
My Conclusion
My conclusion is that Marijuana has uses and it is proven in some studies that it alleviates appetite-loss and nausea, it alleviates pain, and also it helps some people about their brain conditions like epilepsy and seizures so it is better to give people options to use it because some of the drugs cannot help some people and marijuana is a good option to take especially those that have a hopeless and peculiar medical cases.
But we have to just regulate it and the law enforcement comes into play with that issue and if they find any illegal thing that is happening like having some marijuana in possession without the required documents of course will be subject to further inquiry and prosecution if needed be.
