Rip Stephen Hawking 3/14/2018
Although I had not yet his books and have not had the chance to see him in person, Stephen Hawking has always been a big inspiration to me. I have listened to several of his speeches on YouTube and taken a lot of consideration to his out look on life. The fact that he didn't allow his several disability take over his ability to live a fulfilling life is incredible.
With that said, there is a lesson to learn here...
There is No Such Thing As A Good Excuse
Stephen Hawking because increasingly disabled starting at the young age of 21. His brain was fully functional, but his body collapsed within a few years of his original diagnosis of what essentially was extreme ALS. Despite this fact, he was still able to become one of the most well known physicists on the planet who wrote a total of 12 books and is the reason we can conceptualize, before unrelated fields of physical theory, as a unified hypothesis of the universe. These things didn't just happen, they did so only through the will to excel in the light of unfortunate circumstances that would have normally stopped anybody in their tracks multiple times over.
If a man who cannot do more with his body than sit in his chair, can postulate the nature of the universe and give orations about it in front of thousands of people, are the things stopping you really that binding. When you consider that Stephen Hawking was a slave to his own body in the fullest of the sense, it very quickly becomes obvious that the silly little problems that we encounter on a daily basis, are practically moot. The real thing to consider here is that it didn't matter how capable the doctor was, he wasn't stopped by it.
R.I.P to a true modern rail blazer wouldn't even let his own body stop him.
