In seven days time we will enter a wonderful new frontier, the launch of the yearly blue stilton cheese pot — my kryptonite. I’ve done really well this year to cut down on weekly fatty stuffs, I no longer put bacon in the trolley when shopping each week and I’ve cut down massively on all things dairy in terms of 1% milk and cheese in general. It’s had a big impact on my health and I know when I’m groggy because of too much of that stuff.
But every year, on the first of the month and for 31 days only the long clawson people break out their reserves of aged blue stilton with a wax seal, I think it’s aged but I’m not sure, they could just be cramming in the cheese from wheels and sealing it but either way it’s delicious and it’s when I know that I’ve got to start planning for everything christmas related, this year we are going for a hamper and to decorate the van a little bit to make everything look nice — we don’t celebrate Christmas as such as catchup on 80’s movies and chill out together.
In seven days time I’ll be grabbing the bus, taking the trip and fetching said blue stilton cheese to store in my fridge — I think it will probably last a few days before being consumed and I’ll have to do the trip many times over the course of december — december, the dairy and food overload month, I’ll try my best to pace myself, I promise.
