the very small ones are 1mm and really bizarre that the are so beautiful on close ups it looks like dust to the naked eye.

What have I learned so far
diamonds come in many shapes and sizes. it is about color hardness and shape and especially weight. anything over a gram or a ct is quite pricey and can run in the $10,000 range depending on the color and clarity and finish.
how can you test if a diamond is real? In addition to devices, there are a few tests that yes can perform. toss it in a glass of water and see if it falls straight down. glass or crystal swirls. 2nd test a bit more dangerous. hold the diamond in a flame for max 5 seconds and throw it in cold water. if there is no crack it is genuine. glass cannot withstand rapid temperature changes. and crack or break.
and the metal test make a scratch on metal or glass only something hard like diamond will scratch your glass
