It is hard to believe it has been 7 days since my last entry of the story. Which means I can no longer make corrections on the previous post. Charles is Darius's assistant giving Victoria the roses in Part 5. I mistakenly called him Paul. His real name is Charles Paul. Let's stick with calling him, Charles.
You will see in Part 5 where brings this name to my attention. She is my mentor so I am new at writing fiction and appreciate all her input.
I know this is short however if I get this posted I can keep going.

The Mausoleum Part 6
Slowing down from chasing Darius Victoria looks around. She turns back to return where she started. Looking over she sees a blank space where Charles, Darius’s assistant once stood holding the roses in front of the mausoleum.
Victoria asks herself, "Is this really happening? It feels like a dream. "
Once in front of the mausoleum door, she looks down at her watch. The appointed time has left again. Two roses are on the ground next to her.
She bends down on her knees and tearfully lifts them from the ground. First, the white rose and then the red rose. Tears stream down her face as memories flood her senses. It is as if her husband is with her and she mentally hears him saying, “Be strong.”
The memories continue. They are at the lake laughing and having a picnic. Freshly prepared wine and cheese fill the basket and the summer breeze blows through her hair. Her husband pulls the two roses from the basket while saying, “I love you more than ever.”
He tells of upcoming events, “Victoria, I may have to leave for a while but know I will return.”
Holding her hand he says, “You must be strong.”
One of the thorns pricks her finger bringing her back to the present moment.
