Dear Steemians,
On today voiceless post; I want to write about the global problems the world is facing now and how will can contributed our little effort to help this situation. I will be discussing about “Hunger” as a whole not only the children who facing hunger but some adults too were unable to avoid one (1) meal per day.
Being hungry means more than just missing a meal. It’s a debilitating crisis that has more than 700 million people in its grip.
Hunger is a perilous cycle that passes from one generation to the next: Families who struggle with chronic hunger and malnutrition consistently go without the nutrients their minds and their bodies, which then prevents them from being able to work, go to school, or improve their lives.
How can we break this cycle?
I believes that breaking the cycle of poverty and building strong communities begins when every person has enough nutritious food to live a healthy and productive life. This is only key to tackle the hunger in the country of the world.
Do you know?
1 in every 9 goes to the bed hungry each night because they don’t have food.
Statistically, around the world about 795 million people do not have enough of the food they need to live an active and healthy life. People suffering from chronic hunger are plagued with recurring illnesses, developmental disabilities and low productivity. They are often forced to use all their limited physical and financial resources just to put food on the table.
The worst part is that, many hungry people live in countries with food surpluses, not food shortages, but largely issue is that, people who need food the most simply don’t have steady access to it. About 98 percent of the world’s hungry live in developing regions. Most of them live in Asia – say reports.
The highest number of malnourished people, 553 million, lives in Asia and the Pacific, in countries like Indonesia and the Philippines according to the reports.
In sub-Saharan Africa, about 227 million people face hunger in arid countries like Ethiopia, Niger and Mali and about 47 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean; in places like Guatemala and Haiti are struggling to find enough to eat – say reports.
Agriculture is widely depend on from majority of these hungry families who live in rural areas to hardly taste something in a day.
Report says: there was a tiny island near Indonesia called “Timor-Leste” one who has the highest rates of hunger in the country of the world.
Subject Matter:
One-third of the food produced around the world is never consumed- says reports, but I want to ask why we still recorded such huge population facing hunger around the world? if we do not consumed the one-third of the food been produced around the world.
DO YOU KNOW? Around 9 million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year, more than double the lives taken by AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis – says report in 2012.
Note: The purpose of this post is to encourage fellow steemians the need to help or contributed our little assistance to people life around us, no other meaning than this.
