Still Game
Through the years I’ve learned that I have a special place in my heart for obscure comedies. As I was flipping through NetFlix a few weeks ago I stumbled on a Scottish sitcom called, Still Game and I am absolutely hooked.
The series revolves around a cast of pensioners in the fictional Craiglang area of Glasgow, Scotland. The original iteration of Still Game was very popular in the UK, airing on BBC1 from 2002 to 2007, but is just making it to the US twenty years later.
Be forewarned, if your ears aren’t accustomed to the Scottish dialect I would highly recommend turning your subtitles on and be prepared to laugh. It can be crude at times but, Lord, is it hilarious. You can watch Still Game now in North American here on Netflix.

Okay, I knew range anxiety was a thing but I’d never heard of delivery date anxiety being a condition until I ordered my Model 3. As many of you know I ordered a midnight silver metallic Long Range Model 3 back at the end of March. Due to high demand and supply chain issues my delivery date has moved backwards and forwards in the Tesla app five times now.
At one point the delivery window shrunk to a week, June 25-July 2. Then back to a month July 25-Aug 22. The wait has been excruciating but even more frustrating has been the lack of logic of the dates jumping around. I normally wouldn’t be so impatient but a trip back home to Ohio hinges on me getting the car and it’s tough to be in limbo like this.
I found a great Reddit page here that includes a link to a spreadsheet where you can input your own date and also track other people’s orders. My wait time has already well exceeded the average for the particular configuration I chose. The only explanation I can think of is it’s because I reside in the Upper Midwest (MN). Tesla must have less demand for their EVs up here because of the severe winter weather in this part of the country. The deliveries to the coasts and the southern states seem to be happening much faster.
If you’ve ordered a Model 3 recently I’d definitely recommend you check out the Reddit page linked above. It may help to ease your mind a little and make some sense out of it all.
Brompton Update
I’m happy to say that not having a car this summer has forced me to spend much more time on the bike. Despite its small wheels, the Brompton has been a spectacular bike now that a few quirks have been fixed. It's actually faster than my Raleigh Sports.
I found a really nice waterproof, expandable front bag for it from a British company called Restrap and I’m pretty confident that will be all the storage I need. I lovingly refer to this as my "clown bike" because of the tiny wheels and have my red clown nose nestled nicely in the back bag for when the proper occasion arises. Lol.
All for now. I hope you’re enjoying your week so far!

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.
These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you.
