The umbrella was following her, Ella was sure of it. On a grey rainy day in London, one could be forgiven for thinking it would be hard to tell one umbrella from another, but most umbrellas on Oxford Street, that morning, were carried by actual living people. The one that was pursuing Ella seemed to be scurrying around on tiny legs.
By itself.
Why other people didn’t seem to notice, Ella had no clue. She swore she saw one man appologise to the umbrella when he bumped into it (‘terribly sorry, old chap, I didn’t see you there!”). What on earth was going on?
And why would an umbrella be following her anyway?
Ella decided she needed answers. And if she was going to get answers she was going to have to catch the umbrella.
