Here is a reminder of 's winning entry.
Elias was sitting on a chair in front an old commodore 64 computer. It was turned on and the cursor was blinking on the screen. “Elias is everything ok?” asked the nice older women. Elias didn’t answer his purple eyes seemed to catch the light of the computer screen and seemed to almost glow. “Ashley! Ashley come here…..” Elias could hear her voice trailing off as she left the room, maybe to find the younger woman. “Yes M I understand” said Elias. He starting typing at the keyboard and the screen filled with ones and zeros. Elias shook his head as if he had understood. Ashley and her mother had entered the room. “Mom, I didn’t even think that old thing worked anymore. What is he doing? “Ashley mother shook her head slowly as if she was confused. “ Elias honey? Are you ok? “She said softy. Elias turned to the both of them and calmly said “Yes, everything is clear now. I understand what my mission is here. Let’s go downstairs and I will tell you what I can."
Elias explained to my mother and me that he was not entirely human. He was a hybrid. He was human on the outside but he had a cybernetic enhanced brain. Time was an illusion. He came from the past but he explained that he also came from the future. Something about the folding of dimensions and that the science was beyond our understanding. He came to this place to meet Ashley. There was going to be something that she discovered in the future that would have horrible consequences to the continuum. M was his contact here. He didn’t know what his true mission was here until M relayed it to him. Elias told me that his mission was to be my Teacher. He explained that with his guidance it might just be possible to avoid disaster. I just stood there looking at my mother. She looked at me and shook her head. “Elias Honey it’s been a long day. Let’s get some sleep and we can talk about all of this tomorrow.

I had heard the rumours but had never really believed them. For decades we had all been led to believe that something bad had happened there. No one in the town ever used to really talk about it. The older residents would immediately shut down any conversation involving that house. This time though me, Kyle, Becky and Joe wanted to know more and as it was Halloween we couldn't think of a better way to enjoy a full on Halloween adventure than by visiting the house. It was not going to be the usual costumes, drinking and party night. No. We wanted a real Halloween experience. We set off around 10pm, arriving at the house an hour later. Immediately we knew something was wrong. The house had stood derelict for thirty years yet on this occasion the lights were on. But was anyone in?
