Ever tried to write a 100 word play? That stuff is hard!
Well, a couple years back I was asked to create a 100 word play for a national competition. And, while my piece didn't quite make the cut, I've always been rather proud of what I came up with.
So here it is, a 100 word play, titled:
Existential Shoes
#1 IS STARING INTO SPACE, DEEP IN THOUGHT. #2 IS KNEELING, HAVING DIFFICULTY TYING HIS SHOELACES.
#1. Have you ever stared into the night sky and wondered about how infinitesimal we, as a human race, really are? Look at the stars. There are so many of them, and they are so far away. If each of those stars really represents a planet within its own solar system, with its own full ecological structure, with, potentially, a million other possibilities of existence. Then, what really are we? What is the real point of living?
#2. Shit! I can’t tie my laces.
