Right by the port there is a sign on a big, abandoned hotel with a ruined facade, broken windows and cheerful graffiti that welcome every traveller.
Ok, I know, you were intrigued by the title and you want an explanation, so I will get straight to the point.
The story is settled on the island of Silba, one of the thousands of diamonds that lay scattered in the Adriatic Sea along the Croatian coast. Those who are fond of the island will call it Silbica, a name that strongly reminds us on the Spanish hit destination Ibiza.
You have to admit, it's a clever pun of a master whose ship sails joyfully in the rhythm of the waves towards the sparkling diamond, and as we all know "Diamonds are forever".
But for now I will talk about devastated structure of children's resort "Apatin" which hasn't been open for more than 20 years.
Its chambers challenge you to sneak into them, but one must be careful while exploring, danger follows every step.
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Is it possible that something so big and devastated, the first thing you see even before you step on the land, can fill you up with so much admiration?
For me and my sister the answer was yes. With every photo we took we tried to unravel its secrets. And every photo captured something interesting and full of hidden beauty.
It's impossible to take a bad shot, the building itself makes you a professional.
And who can brag to have a whole hotel just for themselves? The two of us had it. Aren't we lucky?!
The flash of the camera was constantly flashing while we were giving it extra charm with our body movements and confused faces.
