As you continue to meditate and learn to slow down your breathing, while remaining relaxed, you will be able to watch even things that disturb you unperturbed. You will quickly and easily handle all possible sensations and thoughts.
When you are immersed in a mantra or in concentration, overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings, the subconscious empties itself. When the subconscious is released, the question may arise: what happens? Nothing.
It's like parsing an old wardrobe. Some things you still need, you can leave them; others are already out of fashion, and you throw them away. Soon you will have more room for something new in life, more opportunities for thinking and feeling your own "I", instead of staying in a subconscious confusion.
