There is no party nor birthday cake, ... for me, it was just an ordinary day.
Went back from Kuala Lumpur one day before the Day, I spent my replacement leave at home ‘recharging my battery’. And at the same time, both my son and I fell sick on the same day. Lucky for me, I only got a slight fever and cough but my son is having a combination of fever, flu, cough, redness on his both legs and developed a stye in his right eye.
What Are Styes?
A stye is a red, painful bump on the eyelid, caused by a backed-up oil gland. Styes can appear on either the upper or lower eyelid, as well as the inside or the outside of the eyelid, near the edge of the eyelid where the eyelashes are.
We took to the Children’s Specialist Clinic in Lintas Square for medical examination. Luckily he was still in a mood to go for a ride despite feel uncomfortable. We told him that we need to bring him to see a doctor and he kept repeating “do-ter, do-ter” while pointing his legs.
While struggling to find a parking space in Lintas area, took
to the clinic while I was on standby mode with my ‘motion-detection eyes’ just to see if there is a car leaving their parking spot. I was lucky enough to get a parking spot underneath a huge tree without wasting my time waiting.
When I entered the clinic,
We give him his fever syrup right away as advised by the doctor and brought him home.
And that is how I spent my birthday. What matter most is that gets better and well. As a parent, suddenly birthday celebration has less value when the priority is our children's health.
