The contact lens was three different colours - red, blue and green. When he blinked the world became green. Blinked again blue and a third time red. He blinked three times to test it out. When the world was red everything stopped. When it was green, everything moved fast and when it was blue it slowed down.
"Incredible," he whispered.
Then he blinked again and the contact disappeared.
"Yeah but it only works once for each colour," the scientist said as he handed him a case.
"But... I have to blink... how much can I get done? A minute or two at most."
"That is more than enough... time is something you need to be careful about."
Hank nodded but was thinking about what he was going to use this for. He had a good idea.
-
The weeks passed. Hank wanted to use the green eye to speed things up but he didn't want to risk it. Finally there was a knock on the door. Hank jumped out of the couch and ran to answer it. When he opened it, his wife, Amanda, stood before him. They said nothing. There was a look. Then a passionate kiss.
"I missed you so much," Hank said.
"I can tell," his wife joked, then gave him another kiss. "I don't want this to be the first thing I say when I came back but I can only stay a day instead of two, the meeting was moved."
"That's okay," Hank said, "we can make the most of tonight."
After a short dinner, the two retreated to the bedroom. Amanda pushed him on the bed. Hank fell back. Amanda smiled and then went over to a small radio. She pushed a button.
"What are you..."
"I remember you said you wanted me to strip for you when I came back... give me a second."
Amanda went to the washroom. In a haste, Hank took out the contact lens from his pocket. He put it on his right eye. Then he quickly blinked twice to get rid of the green filter. Amanda abruptly stood in front of him ready to start.
"That was fast," Hank said.
"Really, I was gone for a few minutes, someone really missed me."
Amanda started to move. She shook her hips to the music. Everything was at half-speed to Hank. He watched her shake her body to the music. Left, then right. He held his eyes opened. He waited for the perfect moment. Then she put her hands in her hand.
Hank blinked.
His wife stood before him. Looking him in the eyes. A slight smile on her face. He could not take his eyes off of her. He did his best to hold his eyes opened. They started to water. She was so beautiful. He wanted to stare in those eyes forever.
Then he blinked.
