There was a warm feeling in the air of the laboratory. The other scientists were excited at the discovery of their magical discovery. After the magical object was successfully activated the new form of transportation was tested.
Amazingly the object was transported through a portal but the object was unstable. The scientists worked for days stabilizing the object but something went wrong. The portal no longer worked and the magical object was stuck in the alternate universe to which it had traveled.
The portal’s existence was kept secret but they had no way of entering the alternate universe without it. The portal’s existence had come to an end and it was destroyed in an accident. A worker was killed in the blast. The portal’s previous existence and location were kept a secret but the nuclear plant suffered an accident years later. The radioactive object was no more but it's presence had altered the entire town.
The town was now filled with new and unknown life forms. The town was no longer full of humans but instead the new magical creatures had taken over. The magical object began to affect the rest of the world as well. Buildings and people were no longer made by humans but instead were made by technology.
