It wasn't exactly a pleasant voice. It was rough and almost sounded painful. The kind of voice you got from breathing toxic fumes 24/7 or gargling gravel once in a while. But the producer was a genius with Auto-Tune and with a little ingenuity, a hit single was born.
This story's random word was 'gravel' and a few less savory ideas floated around my head before I settled on this one. You don't have to be a great singer to make a great song (although it does help most of the time).
