My friend came ot my house a while ago with a pretty special beer he brought from Colorado : A stout brewed with a Colorado "delicacy" : bull testicle.
Hmmmm, I said to myself. But eh, I have to try that while it's in front of me. Can't be that bad if they sell it, right? So I did drink my half of the can and it was not that bad.
The base beer was pretty good. A medium body with a nice head. Good amount of roasted malt and caramel/sweet notes and average bitterness.
The Rocky Mountain Oysters brought some kind of a slightly salty taste. Maybe the cure it before using it to prevent weird bacterias to go in the beer? There might have been some kind of meaty taste, but it might have been a "placebo" taste since I knew what I was drink. So, the bull's balls didn't bring that much flavor, but I was not such a big fan of what it was better. what it brought to the beer.
I'm still happy to have tried that. It's something you don't see everyday.
Stay tuned, I have some other weird beer I should write about soon ;)
