Of course you are allowed to have more accounts, I have created 2 for future projects and currently am running Hive account@projectnewbie and will start becoming active again on Hive account@steemgiveaway. An account for a preferred project is always easier cause you can assign the SteemPower that is collected in it for future funding of the projects.
