Back On The Grind
STREET PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES
I've been seeing some terrible COVID-19 stats coming out of the United States. I have family and friends over there, so stuff like that always worries me quite a bit. Many places that had opened back up have either halted or reversed their re-opening plans due to the new numbers.
Over here in London, one of the most affected cities in the world, many people are getting back to work. Some people had been back to work earlier, and some never stopped working. Since non-essential retail stores are back open in the city, many businesses that support them are open too. Solicitors, accountants and other such high street establishments can be seen opening up gradually.
With this comes the return of the hectic 9-5. I witnessed my neighbours getting back to the old routines one-by-one. I'm always there, on my computer, looking outside my window. I see everything happening in my neighbourhood. I'm like the all-seeing eye on my street.
I'm one of those people that never qualifies for anything government related. It means I didn't get a single COVID-19 related penny. Even back when I became unemployed between jobs, I didn't qualify for any kind of allowance because I had saved too much money. It's good in a way, I guess.
I hope this re-opening sticks, but I fear we are a few weeks away from being locked down again. I'm not sure how the British public will react to another lockdown order.
Peace & Love,
Adé
