The last thing I expected to see in Yangon Myanmar was a Quiksilver store. This is a surfwear brand very popular in California where I used to live. You can see pro-surfer Kelly Slater depicted over the window. I am a swimmer and a surfing fan, and recognized all of this with a shock on the way to the airport.
The people I saw in Yangon were generally dressed in their formal and traditional clothing, and there did not seem to be many tourists in town. There is a river, but no beach nearby. I am not sure who would be buying these clothes. One more mystery from the wonderful city of Yangon that has captured my heart.

I’m grateful I lost half my size and only sorry it took me until I was 50 years old to figure it out. It’s been over seven years now since I had to worry about my weight. What a relief this is .
