Sleep tight

I don't know if the situation has changed much since 2011 but when I lived in Athens, one of the feature of the city which was the most striking was the number of stray cats and dogs in the street. I remember especially one dog which was constantly on Syntagma square near the MacDonald and even inside the MacDonald sometimes as if it was its own home.

In the case of those three dogs, they obviously tried to sleep the heat of summer off on the sidewalk. I find it quite funny and cute, but I don't forget that these poor dogs are mostly alone and left to their own device and have to fend for themselves. The case of the cats is a bit better, because from what I could see every single street had its own grandmother putting out some food for them once in a while.
