These pictures are the result of wandering the streets of Amsterdam without access to Google Maps or a functioning telephone. We just knew our hotel was right around the corner! For hours, we knew this!!! :D We had plenty of time to experiment with the photographic capabilities of my, then new, iPhone7.
While the city was hardly bustling at this hour, there were a few things blocking our path to the Henri Willig Cheese & More store where they claim to sell the "world's best cheese." I propose it's not only the best but it's GOUDA! (See what I did there?) In fact, they have Gouda stacked two stories high...this cheese-lovin' girl's dream come true!!!
Enjoy!
How low can we go?
Here are some FUN FACTS for you from http://amsterdamfaq.com/1/amsterdam :
"According to the most recent figures, the 850.000 residents (442.693 households) of Amsterdam together own 847.000 bicycles. That represents 1.91 bicyles per household. 78% of people 12 years and older owns at least one bike. Bonus fact: each year between 12,000 and 15,000 bikes are fished up from city's canals."
Thanks for sharing in part of our quest to find our hotel...which we finally did. Good times!!!
