Just for you
. :-)
As it is day of the dead here and a bank holiday, we decided on a trip to Lublin after the good lady took me to a cemetery. I have never seen so many people inside them places in my life, thousand and thousands o people around graves lighting candles all day long. Anyway we went to Lublin after, and that church was the first thing I saw right next to where we parked. It was built in 1640.
The fascination with the sun gods is also evident again.
Next up is the high street and all the restaurants, bars, shops, banks etc.
This part of town is considered newer than the part called old town, which will be below. As a lot of this was blown up/bombed during the second world war. Some of the buildings are from 1790 to 1800.
This next photo is interesting to me at least.
On the left is a church, and on the right a Egyptian style needle, that Freemasons love so much, the Freemason theme does not end there. Note the needle is on the right, and the church on the left. On the front of the church is a all seeing eye and Pyramid, another Freemason obsession.
It amazes me nobody sees these things.
Closer up you say? Okay.
Pretty quiet here today, due to most places being closed.
Heading back down the high st to old town.
That is the entrance below to old town and the two market squares.
The busker was talented also.
The eastern block is often portrayed as broke.
In money terms, sure the wages are low, though so are the prices to buy things, there is no shortage of any thing you really need here.
Every July there is a international high wire walk laid on.
People come from all over the world to join in, so in commemoration of that is the statue/bronze statue high wire walker below.
We were going for lunch to this Irish bar.
Though it was closed, so we went to a different one instead.
We ended up at this Irish bar, that is gorgeous inside, and has 3 floors, all equally as nice, the food and beer were excellent too.
Below is a view of the local castle from old town.
I will add a few more pics below it with no commentary.
Below is a superb 5 star hotel and spa.
They leave you roses and petals, the food is top class, and the service second to none.
I will leave a few more photos before I check out.
I hope you enjoyed the views.
That last building that is empty is yet another Jewish owned one, the owners upped and left without selling it on. So there it sits till it falls down, such a shame as it is huge inside.
It is holiday time here, so that's me spending time with family, hope you all had a great day too, out!
