I was looking forwards to heading to London today for the Hive meet up and evening gig with but circumstances meant I had to bail.
While there isn't a train strike today, there was one yesterday and there's another two days of strikes coming on Friday and Saturday.
And I figure this means that everyone who had planned to head into London for some Christmas shopping this week is basically going to do that shopping like today which means probably very busy trains as everyone condenses into TODAY.
Not only do I not want to endure very busy trains, it would be on my mind for the whole event, I also think it's fair to just stay home and let someone else have my space so to speak.
And I honestly don't trust there to not be some kind of disruption tonight on my way back, what with temperatures set to go down to minus five - it's a very cold temperature to potentially be left out in London stranded and waiting to pay £80 for an uber back to Kent.
So while I'd love to be heading up to London to enjoy an event, which I did really fancy, circumstances don't allow it.
NB I FULLLY support the strikes and their quest for better pay and conditions and I don't mind mind being inconvenienced in the grand scheme of things.
After all....
