Being an IGCSE student is like living on a rollercoaster – one moment you feel motivated and ready to conquer the world, the next you’re buried under piles of notes wondering if coffee counts as a food group. Preparing for IGCSE is challenging, but it’s also shaping me into a more disciplined and focused version of myself. Sometimes it gets so difficult that I just want to give up, but there's always something that makes me want to do everything I can get to be successful.
My day usually starts with school lessons, but the real work begins when I get home. I spend a few hours revising subjects like Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Maths, and English. Some days it feels overwhelming, especially when there’s so much to cover, but breaking things into smaller goals helps. These days I'm on study leave so I'm not actually going to school. Even though I'm at home and have time, I still feel so lazy to study lol.
This is my routine.
For example:
📖 1 hour of past paper practice
✍️ 30 minutes rewriting notes in my own words
Exams bring a lot of pressure. There’s the constant voice in my head asking, “Am I doing enough?” or “What if I forget everything during the exam?” But I remind myself that stress won’t help. Instead, I try to focus on consistency—studying a little every day is better than cramming at the last minute. But you know how a student life can be on top of everyone's expectations .
Even though studying takes most of my time, I make sure to balance it with small things I enjoy like writing stories, sketching fashion designs, or just relaxing with music. These moments recharge me and keep me from burning out completely. At least I try to find things that have little joy in them.
Preparing for IGCSE isn’t just about grades—it’s about learning discipline, time management, and resilience. I know this phase will pass, and when I finally walk out of my last exam hall, all the hard work will feel worth it. Let's all of us do it all together .
For now, I’m just taking it one chapter, one past paper, and one cup of tea at a time. ☕✨
