This is my entry to #SublimeSunday hosted by
My Saturday and Sunday have been spent in the Garden... We decided not to go out because of some work in the house. But, this is the moment I have been waiting for... the moment of truth on how the tulips bulbs I planted last Fall made it in Spring.
I have chosen a mixture of various colors, I would normally stick to one shade, but this was all experimental. I just thought I would mix them this time. The planting happened last October just before we flew to Southern Spain. There were more than 80 bulbs as far as I can remember..
Some were also planted on the grounds... somehow, the birds took them out of the soil. When we came back in February.... Oh my, there were around a dozen bulbs that were exposed by the birds! Funny thing is... they just left them on the grounds without eating them. The poor birds must have been so hungry as the last winter was harsh and very long. Can be that they didn´t like the taste at all.
I have replanted those dozen bulbs but they didn´t grow anymore, so I have to throw them all. At any rate, I already develop a strategy next time...Lol, I will plant them deeper in the soil!
Most of the tulips this time were planted in containers. I took shots of single ones using the fish eye lens attached to the smartphone and this yellow one here is a product of that lens.
We are still celebrating Easter Monday in Austria so as to give the families more time to spend the holiday with their love ones.
