It has been 5 days since I joined and I know I haven't done as well as many others, but I am not going to focus on that...I am just thankful to those that have encouraged me with my art and enriched my experience with their posts. I am looking forward to seeing more from you and I hope you enjoy what I have to offer :)
I painted this picture for a guy I know and he ended up backing out of the commission, which was pretty disappointing to me. I decided not to let it get me down and a couple weeks later, someone came into the Art Gallery where I have my art at. He was desperate to find a present for his mother and said he wanted something that was inspired by native culture. This painting was originally done for a native man and so I had not displayed it at the gallery, because I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to appropriate native culture. I told him I might have something at home for him and showed him this picture. He excitedly yelled YES this will be perfect! He bought it on the spot and I mailed it out to his mother. I was very happy to help and even more happy that my painting was going to go somewhere to be appreciated and loved. Everything happens for a reason, if you stay positive and focused...you can turn anything around!
