Happy New Year Steem friends!
What a year 2018 was! Although it was a brutal year for the price of STEEM and nearly every other cryptocurrency out there, I had plenty of other things going on throughout the year to keep my spirits up and keep me optimistic going in to 2019.
Whether it was making fun foods with my girlfriend, capturing tons of photos of plants and flowers, attending both an Imagine Dragon concert and a Logic concert, or celebrating the holidays with my friends and family - 2018 sure was a busy year! And even though there was so much happening, arguably the best thing that took place during the past year took place just over a week ago on Christmas morning! For those of you who saw and read my Christmas post, you'll know that I finally received a major upgrade to my photo-taking setup.
During my time here so far on the Steem blockchain, I have been posting photos taken nearly exclusively using smartphones. Most recently, this has been with my Google Pixel 2, which as far as smartphone cameras goes is among the upper echelon that's available right now.
A brand new dedicated camera, however, will now open up so many more possibilities for the photographs that I'm able to capture and share with you all here!
By the way, the specific camera that I received is the Canon Rebel EOS T7i with the stock 18-55mm lens. This seems to be the best of the best that's currently available from Canon for budding newbie photographers like myself who want an upgraded photo quality combined with a relatively straightforward experience but lacking the complicated bells and whistles that the professionals use.
Although I chipped in with my parents to purchase this Christmas gift, I am truly so excited that I'll finally be able to capture so many more details in my photos and that I'll be able to share them here with all of you from the wonderful Steem community! My brother and father even chipped in too and got me a slick new book bag and a monopod for the camera, so I'm pretty well all set to jump right into action!
So here's to a wonderful 2019 everyone! I have a funny feeling that it's going to be a great one!
Also, I'd like to give a big thanks to for her recent post asking Steemians to share their single best experience from 2018 for a chance at winning a 1K SP delegation! I was planning to do this anyway, but reading the post gave me some added inspiration and motivation to make it a good one!
If any of you are interested in sharing your own experience from 2018, feel free to check out her post and follow the contest guidelines found near the bottom!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my post!
