My photo_diary #20 "The Easter of summer"

15 of August is a huge celebration for the Christian Orthodox... The sleep of Virgin Mary... also called as " the Easter of summer". At Greek villages there are several traditions such as women gathered at the church the afternoon day before the celebration and bring fresh flowers fron their gardens to decorate the image of Virgin Mary at the church. The day of the celebration after the ceremony at the church the use to offer homemade sweets to all the people at the church yard. This year it was a different one, because of the Coronavirus situation... with less people attending this spiritual journey and with all the safe precautions! May Mother Mary protect us all and help us all during this different and difficult time!
