In true stereotypical fashion, more words on the weather from a Brit abroad (for now).
It's been miserable here this past week, amplified by the fact my fellow countrymen have been enjoying a 'proper boiling' Easter. I had considered making the trip back last week, and that was before the ever-changing, generally lies and bullshit forecast said it would be awesome for this time of year, or at any point of the year in the UK really.
Anyway, I didn't go, and instead listened to the wind howl and watched the rain seem to fill this pool right up to the top.
Today though, as you can see, mr sunshine is back. And hopefully he will stick around for the next 5 months because I just feel so much better in body, mind, and soul with a little sun on me each day.
I have more energy in the summer, cycling and swimming happen almost daily. My skin likes the sun, but I don't take the piss and lay there all day - 30 mins to a hour and I'm good. My hair and in particular my scalp are horrible during the colder months, I hope they start to get better after today's ray-blast.
Before I left the UK (and even now occasionally) I'd take vitamin D supplements. I also owned one of those lights that you shine in your face each day - totally crap. Seasonal Affective Disorder got persistently worse without me noticing it over a number of years, and then bam, I was mentally useless and enjoyed little.
Maybe I need my seasons to go from dry to rainy - I only like one of the more traditional 4 seasons. I don't care for red autumn leaves, or icicles dangling from window ledges. Sun please, I can look at the rest on the Internet.
Hard to see the screen outside though isn't it? 😎
Cheers!
