Heralding the start of 'Alternative Comedy' Not the 9 o'clock news burst onto our TV screens basically taking the mickey out of everyone from politicians to TV news presenters. VCR's (Video Cassette Recorders) had only been out a couple of years and was beyond most peoples budget, so recordings were the next best thing. Sadly, Mel Smith died in 2013 from a heart attack.

Sensibly forging his own career alongside his collaboration with Not the 9 o'clock news, this was a collection of sketches performed before a live audience at the Grand Opera House, Belfast. My daughters love Mr Bean. Personally, I think it's terrible, but there you go. When I played this and asked my daughter who it was, she didn't have a clue until I said, "It's Mr Bean for heaven's sake or Black Adder. If only I had dug this out during Brexit, I could have played. I hate the French my favourite that's probably still relevant today is 'Impatient Man in Queue Behind Student' "Are you a student? LOL

The Paradise Club - The Paradise Club 1989
Featuring the music from the show. It was a pretty good TV series at the time featuring 'Dirty Den' (Leslie Grantham) of Eastenders fame long before we found out Grantham was just as unsavoury offset as on. He died in 2018 of lung cancer. Some might find it interesting that Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson appeared in an episode called "Rock and Roll Roulette"
