The #sunthursday contest hosted by ☀️
SunThursday edition 43
My favorite time of day is when the sun goes down. I am lucky to live at the end of the village, and the sun is setting behind my house ...
That means I can watch the sunset every day 🥰
This time I was returning home when I saw sun dogs in the sky ...
This is the first time I saw on both sides of the sun, where on one side it was made as a small semicircle .... As if I wanted to make a whole circle around the sun, which I only saw in the photos ..
What is Sun dogs?
For those unfamiliar with this phenomenon these are spots of light that are colorful and look bright on one or both sides of the sun.
Sundogi cover the same distance as the sun above the horizon .... Sometimes seen as part of a ring surrounding the sun ....
Scientifically, the name used to denote sundogs is “parhelion”. It is a Greek word meaning "next to the sun" ...
"Sundogs form by breaking and scattering light from hexagonal ice crystals suspended in cold cirrus. Sometimes when the weather is too cold, ice crystals float in the air creating sun dogs. Despite the fact that sundogs mostly form during cold weather, the presence of cirrus clouds leads to creating sundogs at any time. The air has ice crystals that take the place of prisms and refract the sun's rays that make sundogs. "
So that little rainbow as I call it and scientifically explained ....
Regardless of the explanation, it is still mystical to me ...
I first noticed a small rainbow maybe seven, eight years ago ...
I don't know if she has appeared before, I haven't noticed her and I have always watched sunsets and observed the sky .... I would like to buy a telescope and take a closer look at the sky .... 🤗
I would like you to tell me your observations regarding this phenomenon?
Thank you very much for visiting my blog 🥰🌹
Have a nice day and wonderfull
weekend ☀️🌺
