So it seems the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross series has claimed another rider but hopefully it is nothing too major. Justin Barcia, a rider who many consider to be a hometown favorite in Georgia, will not be lining up at this weekends race in Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He is currently being evaluated after a practice track crash and it's possible he sustained a concussion.

"Following a medical check at TOC in Tallahassee, Florida, Barcia is being evaluated for concussion and as a precautionary measure will not take part in this weekend’s Monster Energy Supercross round at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. The news of Justin’s accident this morning is a real pity, but our main concern is Justin’s health and recovery. Following the Concussion Protocol, we hope that Justin will be back to 100% and cleared to participate soon."
Barcia actually hails from New York but he spent a lot of time training at the the Millsaps Training Facility in Cairo, Georgia. He now runs his own track in Florida but as a big advocate of East Coast life the fans in and around Atlanta have taken him on as their own.
