Poltergeist Worldwide

It is a supernatural phenomenon whose name of German origin means spirit that causes noises. They involve physical situations like rains of stones, movement of objects, appearance and disappearance of objects, appearance of sounds, water and lights.

Since the seventeenth century such phenomena have been investigated. They believed that the poltergeist was made of witchcraft or diabolical possession. Already in the nineteenth century, when such beliefs declined, they believed that such facts were provoked by well thought and worked acts or that they were works of disembodied spirits.
