Fill your life with experiences, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.
A personal experience converted into a memory is one of the most valuable treasures you can ever achieve in life.
Having been part of the World Surf League's championships in Keramas (Bali, Indonesia) is definitely one of my best kept treasures now.
The excitement in the air was growing constantly during the tournament, and when the finals day had arrived you could literally feel the excitement of the crowd.
It was an incredible moment to live, and today I'd like to share it with you.
Thanks for the party, Keramas! I had a blast!
getting the finals day started at 6am with lots of coffee cups
Everything seemed to be a bit unreal
When I arrived at the beach at 6:30am right after the sunrise, the air was already filled with excitement.
While enjoying my first coffee of the day, I could even watch the PROs doing their free surf and warm-up session.
It feels pretty unreal sitting on your towel being surrounded by all those surf legends!
Lucky me, my favorite finals candiate Jordy Smith passed by and I could do another nice selfie with him!
Good luck, I'll be crossing my fingers for you. - I told him and he smiled...Click!
A world class experience
During aproximately three hours the competitors proved why they're the best surfers in the world.
After Italo Ferreira's perfect 10 in the semifinals, we were all supposing him to be winning the whole thing.
And he did.
Ferreira held the two highest single-wave scores of the event and three of the event’s top heat totals. The goofy-footer launched and landed massive aerials, attacked the lip with precision, and threaded backhand tubes throughout to prove himself as the worthy winner of the Corona Bali Protected. - World Surf League
What then happend was really amazing! I didn't expect the award party to be so emotional!
Let the images speak for themselves and enjoy these 2:30 minutes of pure fun and pleasure (watch it til the end)!
I hope you enjoyed watching the video in the same way I enjoyed editing it!
By the way the day after the event I didn't do anything but hanging at the pool. Cheering for my idols was really hard work :-)
Now I'll safely store all these amazing memories in the Steem blockchain, so they'll be appreciable for whoever wants to be part of it at any time in the future...
