So, what’s the difference between bugging out, camping, and long distance hiking? Lets take a look inside Squirrel Bait’s mind. I warn you, it can be a scary place. Bugging out is a treacherous, scary, and difficult thing to do!
You don’t have to quickly duck or dive to get out of sight while camping and hiking. You’re not worried about being found! You will do an awful lot of that in a bug out situation. Your ability to think and react quickly instead of leisurely will determine your success. I would say to practice what I call a roll down fall out of sight (You do a controlled fall with a roll into the bushes). However, with a large pack on? Probably not right? So, a fast reaction giving you time to hide is crucial. You have to be so much more aware and so much more in tune with your surrounding in a Bug Out. You have to use your instincts to sense changes and dangers. It’s A LOT of hiding not just hiking to your safe location. Be prepared to duck and cover at all times. Nerve racking unlike camping and hiking enjoying nature.
